What you’ll do:

The Sr Manager of Strategic Workforce Planning is responsible for implementing and managing a workforce planning for Schwab’s Technology Services organization, one of Schwab’s largest and most critical organizations. Workforce planning will ultimately support strategic & business planning, modernization initiatives, evolution of our location strategy as we expand in new locations and adopt new ways of working (e.g. Agile & Scrum teams), and general company and organizational growth.

The Sr. Manager will work in a team setting, reporting to a Managing Director or Vice President, and will partner with multiple constituents across Schwab’s technology organization and support organizations including Human Resources, Vendor Management, Finance and Project Services.

The successful candidate will be entrepreneurial and excited to build new functions, adaptable to changing dynamics, driven to deliver results, and a strong partner/ leader that can keep a sense of humor. They will have broad perspective and ability to synthesize an array of internal and external inputs into a coherent picture of the future and a winning strategy.

The Sr Manager will have responsibility for:

  • Leading the design and implementation of strategic workforce planning capability, including tools and processes

  • Developing and maintaining an appropriate Target Labor Model, including labor types, levels and skills for Schwab Technology Services; labor skills inventory; and Location Strategy for Schwab Technology Services

  • Developing reporting, managing timelines, soliciting and coordinating input from across the organization and our partners

  • Ensuring high-quality analysis and presentation materials for senior management and stakeholders

  • Developing strategic insights that will support modernization initiatives and organizational growth

What you have:

  • MBA and/or post-grad education required

  • Minimum of 2 years work experience in strategic workforce planning required, preferably with a top-tier consulting firm or workforce planning group within a technology organization

  • Prior experience in financial services or technology preferred, but not required

  • Superior analytical skills, research capabilities and attention to detail

  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to develop concise and effective communications tailored to specific audiences

  • Ability to manage several projects concurrently

  • Strong and demonstrated teaming skills, especially in cross-functional teams

  • Comfort in a dynamic and fast-moving work environment

  • Ability to drive work independently
