The RIA industry is a $4 Trillion industry and is expected to gain another 7% market share by the end of 2018. Schwab Advisor Services provides custody services for RIAs and is the largest custodian with more assets than our top three closest competitors combined.

The AS Strategic Business Development Team works to support the home office relationship of the largest and most complex relationships within the Advisor Services (AS) enterprise. The team is a critical part of the success of the AS Sales organization and as such the team places tremendous value on candidates with a proven track-record of providing a consistently high-level of service and support to both the teams direct clients and their constituents in AS Sales and Relationship Management.

What you’ll do:

Within the team, the Senior Manager, RM Sales Programs will deliver thoughtful, high quality, seamlessly executed programs and project management in support of the Strategic Business Development Team. This role will be responsible for organizing and executing on both short and long-term strategic initiatives on behalf of the team and will also serve as a key resource in finding success with complex business opportunities presented by the team’s clients. A few specific responsibilities include:

  • Develop a project management infrastructure and provide ongoing project management support for a broad and diverse set of deliverables associated with the Strategic Business Development team and its clients.

  • Manage ongoing series of communications and track key open projects/initiatives with key internal partner groups.

  • Project lead for troubleshooting issues with and driving enhancements/upgrades within the CRM system in support of the Strategic Business Development team. This will be conducted with the relationship management organization that creates efficiency and/or drives strategic activities that help sales retain and grow clients.

  • Evaluate success of existing processes/ programs and recommend enhancements as appropriate in an effort to maximize utilization of resources or ROI on spend.

  • Partner with sales analytics team to build and deliver client and market specific analysis and support field implementation of recommendations that may result from this information.

  • Program lead for all sponsored client events and the teams’ participation in other industry events (i.e. Barron’s), responsible for coordination with sales leadership, clients and other business partners to ensure maximum monetization of these investments.

  • Manage or support certain client or prospect projects that require significant coordination with key internal partners (Legal, Compliance, Technology, Service, Events, CSIM, etc) as well as ongoing client communications, reporting to key stakeholders, etc.

  • Support ongoing evolution of Enterprise and Vendor relationship management support model and Offer Development; conduct supporting sales analysis and coordinate with field sales to ensure seamless execution.

What you have:

  • 10+ years in a project management and/or program development role.

  • Strategic and analytical thinker with a bias for action and the ability to overcome obstacles and successfully execute on multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to research, synthesize data, develop recommendations and build alignment and influence partners.

  • Experience serving the financial services industry (preferred); an understanding of the sales process and sales organization

  • Strong PowerPoint skills, Microsoft Office, Adobe Pro.

  • A self-starter with a results-oriented approach to business, ability to deliver high-quality work, develop and manage large scale projects

  • Proven ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative, matrixed environment.

  • M.B.A. preferred or similar combination of education and experience required.

  • Series 7 & 63 preferred.
