Charles Schwab AS Strategy is the internal strategy group for Advisor Services. Advisor Services has been the fastest growing part, by assets, of Charles Schwab and now represents just under half of Charles Schwab client assets. The team helps the AS leadership team address the most critical challenges facing their businesses, and setting the strategic direction for AS. In tandem with Retail and Client Solution Strategy groups, the AS Strategy group is one of the main intake valves for top-tier talent at Schwab, providing members with an unparalleled opportunity to work on the major issues confronting Schwab, while gaining visibility among the firm's senior leadership.
What you’ll do:
The Senior Manager role is responsible for delivering thoughtful, insightful contributions to Advisor Services strategic work. The Senior Manager works in a team setting, working with multiple constituents across Schwab’s business units.
The Senior Manager has responsibility for significant elements of project work, including:
• Participating in project definition and idea generation
• Planning and executing their own work streams for discrete projects or subsets of projects
• Ensuring quality control of data/research and preparing presentation materials for senior management
• Developing strategic insights that will drive sustained growth in our business
• Supporting the communication of strategic initiatives to key internal and external stakeholders
• Facilitating key business processes, including annual and long-term business planning and c-level reporting.
Senior Managers interact with senior members of Schwab’s leadership team and executive partners within the business units. Projects are growth focused. Representative projects include client segmentation, HNW/UHNW growth strategy, retirement platform strategy etc.
What you have:
MBA and/or post-grad education required
Minimum of 2 years work experience in strategy required, preferably with a top-tier consulting firm or strategy group within a financial services firm
Prior experience in financial services including experience with financial markets, products, technology and/or the fee-based investment advisory market preferred, but not required
Superior analytical skills, research capabilities and attention to detail
