Our Opportunity:

The Corporate Information Technology group in Charles Schwab & Co.'s IT organization is comprised of several teams that support the goals of Schwab’s internal corporate functions through the delivery of technology, operations, and projects. The goal of the Employee Digital Experience team is to partner closely with enterprise business partners to define and enable a consumer like internal employee technology experience within Schwab to enhance our employees’ productivity and effectiveness. Our focus is to deliver solutions that align with Digital Workplace and various lines of business strategies through an agile and customer-aligned approach. Reporting to the Vice President of Digital Workplace Technology, the Managing Director of the Employee Digital Experience will lead a technology organization comprised of full-time, contingent and offshore resources responsible for the development and support of key Digital Workplace strategies. This role will focus on the following aspects of Digital Workplace: Productivity, Self-service, act as the line of business apps influencer from the Digital Workplace team, partner with HR and HR Technology teams on HRMS, UI/UX, Analytics and talent. This role will partner closely with the Intranet, Mobility including Employee Mobile solutions and the mobility platform and the End User Computing teams.

What you’ll do:

  • Effectively lead a team of full-time, contingent, and offshore technology professionals and build out a world class technology organization

  • Partner with the VP of Digital Workplace Technology, Corporate Information Technology Principal and business partners to define, socialize and gain approvals of the Digital Workplace and Employee Digital Experience blueprints and manage the delivery of the blueprint initiatives

  • Identify a portfolio of technology projects and enhancements to deliver the roadmap

  • Act as a technology thought leader. Influence business and technology stakeholders to ensure we implement the best solutions for the company

  • Manage relationships with internal business partners and technology partners, ensuring a positive and collaborative work environment with shared accountability and responsibility

  • Assume overall accountability for delivering all technology initiatives in an effective and efficient manner. Track and measure progress against initiatives, communicate status, and effectively manage all issues and risks.

  • Drive success and engagement of the team by providing development opportunities, communicating the vision and the roadmap, and ensuring they understand the business impact of their work

  • Manage the organization. Lead all staffing (selection and hiring), budgeting, allocation of resources, performance management, and career development of the team

  • Ensure the team complies with all Schwab technology standards and policies

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field

  • 10+ years of IT experience in application development, project delivery, offshore and vendor management and IT strategy

  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with a diverse group of technical and non-technical individuals at all levels of the organization

  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing technology professionals in multiple locations and building high performing organizations

  • Proven track record of leading large-scale, multimillion-dollar technology programs in a fast-paced environment. Experience in leading Agile projects is preferred.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with an ability to influence in a matrix organization

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills as well as poise under pressure

  • Self-motivated, results-oriented and flexible with impeccable follow-up, strong delivery focus, positive attitude and collaborative style

  • Financial Services industry and Digital Workplace Technology experience is preferred

  • Experience in people leadership and development, establishing, leading and inspiring high performing teams with strong employee engagement
