Our Opportunity:

The Independent Branch Services (IBS) team is responsible for the strategy, design and implementation of the Schwab franchise branch model that expands Schwab's retail branch footprint through independently owned and managed locations. This broader geographic footprint will help Schwab's high-service; high-value brokerage and wealth management model reach millions more investors. Having more local points of contact will help Schwab build on our strong national brand, capture a greater share of assets, and come closer to delivering our promise to retail investors.

What you’ll do :

The Franchise Sales Director, as part of the Independent Branch Services Sales Team, is responsible for recruiting financial advisors for the role of Independent Branch Leader/Schwab Franchise Owner within a specific geographic region. In this role, the Franchise Sales Director will design and execute a grassroots recruitment strategy within their geographic region in order to attract qualified financial advisors and subsequently convert them to Independent Branch Leaders. Strong emphasis is placed on the quality of the financial advisor who will ultimately represent the Schwab brand in their community. To that end, the Franchise Sales Director serves as a “gatekeeper” to the Schwab culture as they attract, develop and close financial advisor leads.

In addition to the identification and development of leads, the Franchise Sales Director will develop strong tactical and strategic relationships with our internal business partners, and Independent Branch leaders, in order to further the mission of Independent Branch Services and the Sales Team; including but not limited to regular proactive communication with partners regarding the Independent Branch Services mission and progress, and to leverage partner expertise and referrals to support the growth of One Schwab.

Specific job responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Utilize full cycle recruiting techniques for success including; sourcing, in-depth profiling, model positioning, education, close and successful hand-off of the prospective Independent Branch Leader

  • Work strategically with leadership and other team members to design, execute and maximize a grassroots sourcing strategy that includes but is not limited to: cold/warm calling, referral programs, foot sourcing, social media, events, conferences and other methods deemed appropriate for the defined geographic territory

  • Professionally and clearly communicate the Independent Branch Services value proposition to financial advisors prospects, referral sources and partners

  • Acquire and keep current in depth knowledge of the assigned geographic territory to include: referral sources, COIs, competitors, community organizations, networking opportunities, labor trends, local market economic statistics, and investor demographics

  • Develop and maintain successful relationships with all appropriate support groups (Real Estate, Compliance, Control Group, Program Office and others) to ensure a smooth transition from Sales to Market Leadership

  • Build industry networks and conduct on-going research to stay abreast of industry trends and gather competitive intelligence to best position Independent Branch Services among ideal prospects to improve recruiting success

  • Develop, manage and administer all sourcing and recruiting processes in the specific geographic region

  • Leverage Schwab’s internal partners and Sales team members for success

What you have:

Required minimum skills and qualifications are:

  • Minimum of 10 years in financial services, preferably in Broker Dealer/RIA recruitment

  • Proven strategic sourcing methods and negotiation techniques

  • Excellent communication, verbal, written and relationship/trust building skills.

  • Strong positioning and presentation skills, professional, and articulate

  • Deep roots in consultative approach with financial advisors

  • Demonstrated team attitude, collaboration skills and a proactive approach.

  • Ability to work successfully in remote work environment

  • A strong desire and acumen for a fast paced sales environment, exercising consist sound judgment and discretion toaccomplish goals and work requirements

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and set priorities.

  • Strong PC skills - Word, PowerPoint, Internet, prospect management tools, sourcing channel software and social media

  • Bachelor’s degree required
