The Charles Schwab Investment Management at https://www.schwabfunds.com/public/csim/home/about (CSIM) marketing team is responsible for developing effective marketing programs and communication strategies that promote Schwab’s proprietary ETF and mutual fund products to financial advisors, institutions and retail investors. The Sr. Value Add Marketing Manager is responsible for executing on comprehensive value add marketing programs and developing content to increase brand awareness and credibility, build client relationships, drive engagement and fuel loyalty.
What you’ll do:
The position will work with the broader CSIM marketing team, other business partners and outside agencies/writers to provide marketing support, content development and project management for our marketing and content initiatives.
The Sr. Value Add Marketing Manager should have the ability to plan, create and deliver marketing and content initiatives, which could include:
Content development: Identifying key story angles, finding and filling gaps in our content coverage, turning trends and data into compelling content, write compelling headlines and edit a broad range of content.
Marketing communications: Developing marketing communications that support business goals, and help support our advocacy, leadership as well as various products, services and programs.
Analytics and reporting: Capturing results of marketing and content initiatives and creating dashboards to highlight results to socialize with broader team and business partners.
Specific responsibilities include:
Develop a strong understanding of CSIM, our products, target audiences, business goals and sales objectives
Plan, create and deliver a variety of content and marketing communications including, but not limited to, whitepapers, articles, infographics, presentations, videos, case studies, brochures, webcasts, web copy, and emails
Project manage the marketing and content development process from beginning to end—authoring creative/content briefs, managing the creative agency and outside writers and/or creating content yourself, working with key stakeholders and subject matter experts, managing the compliance review process, and working with internal partners and other vendors to execute/print final product
Project management of marketing and content initiatives including development of status documents, timelines, schedules, and content plans and ensuring that all deadlines and deliverables are met on time and on budget
Frequent collaboration with marketing team and key business partners such as PR, events, sales and channel owners to socialize projects and initiatives and maximize promotional opportunities
Manage communications and content distribution through multiple channels, including internal content distribution, and make suggestions regarding the right content for the right channel
Manage and facilitate internal sales education and training for key value add programs
Monitor and track programs and content against business and marketing goals to gauge success of efforts
What you have:
BA/BS in Marketing, English, Communications, Finance or related field preferred
8+ years of marketing and content development experience
Experience in the financial services or asset management industries and understanding of the Registered Investment Advisor and/or Defined Contribution space a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with superior attention to detail; ability to articulate objectives, strategies and tactics to various teams and levels of management
Proven experience in content strategy and new content development; experience in syndicating content a plus
Deadline oriented with effective time management skills
Extremely strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, keeping projects on schedule and on budget
Strong client focus and ability to think in terms of the client experience/perspective
Ability to build strong personal relationships and trust across business lines
Strong persuasion and Power Point skills
Ability to work independently and cooperatively within a team environment to achieve business objectives and proactively support the needs of key business partners
Experience building effective cross functional relationships and navigating the complexities of a large organization to manage project deliverables
Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable with producing results in an environment of change and ambiguity
