Our Opportunity:

The Sr. Team Manager will lead the Schwab Business Learning (SBL) Center of Excellence team. The Sr. Team Manager will be a visionary and collaborator in inspiring SBL, Human Resources support teams and the businesses we serve to embrace innovative ways of learning. The Sr. Team Manager will provide guidance, inspiration and development opportunities to team members.

What you’ll do:

Relationship Management

  • Develops effective relationships with the Consulting, Instructional Design, Facilitation, Compliance & Regulatory and appropriate HR Support Teams, staying ahead of initiatives and appropriately influencing outcomes to ensure alignment with learning development goals

  • Actively collaborates with all SBL teams to ensure continuity, dedication to the long term vision of SBL, and accountability to properly balance short term needs with the long term vision

Team Management

  • Models organizational values and plays a key role in raising the profile of these values and associated behaviors across SBL

  • Supervises, hires, trains, and evaluates members of the team when applicable

  • Develops direct reports’ skills and capabilities by planning effective development activities related to current and future jobs

Adult Learning

  • Remains up-to-date with current research issues and standards of training in the field and regularly consults with other employees to identify strategies for implementing new training techniques / processes

Transfer of Learning

  • Knows a variety of assessment methods to be used before, during, and after training to measure the impact of training. Can collaborate with training managers to implement comprehensive evaluations of training effectiveness

What you have:

  • Minimum of 3 years of people leader or leadership experience required

  • Minimum of 5 years of learning industry experience required

  • College degree required

  • Series 7 license preferred. Must be willing to obtain if hired
