The Advisor Services Marketing team develops effective programs and communications strategies that build and strengthen relationships with advisors. We help them leverage solutions to scale their businesses, navigate the marketplace, and serve their clients.

Advisor Services Marketing is responsible for:

  • Understanding the needs of our advisor clients and prospects in the multiple forms they may take

  • Developing value add content that provides advisors with insights they need to help them take advantage of trends and opportunities in the marketplace, plan for the future and grow their businesses

  • Designing and executing effective marketing programs that lead advisors to take full advantage of Schwab’s products, programs, platforms and services

  • Working with marketing leadership, client experience partners, and client delivery teams on the implementation of marketing programs that support the launch and promotion of products, services, and solutions for advisors

  • Partnering with cross-enterprise groups to improve the way advisors work, enhance the choices they have to offer their clients, and deepen their relationships with Schwab

What you’ll do:

Senior Manager, Marketing and Content Development will report to a Managing Director, Advisor Services Content Strategy and Development. The Senior Manager, Marketing and Content Development will work with the broader Content Strategy and Development team, other business partners and outside agencies/writers to provide marketing support, content development and project management for our marketing and content initiatives.

The Senior Manager, Marketing and Content Development should have the ability to plan, create and deliver marketing and content initiatives, which could include:

  • Content development: Identifying key story angles, finding and filling gaps in our content coverage, turning trends and data into compelling content, write compelling headlines and edit a broad range of content.

  • Marketing Communications: Developing marketing communications that support business goals, and help support our advocacy, leadership as well as various products, services and programs.

  • Analytics and reporting: Capturing results of marketing and content initiatives and creating dash boards to highlight results to socialize with broader team and business partners.

  • Project Management: Managing all aspects of project from strategy to execution

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Develop a strong understanding of Advisor Services and our goals and objectives

  • Plan, create and deliver a variety of content and marketing communications including, but not limited to, articles, listicles, infographics, videos, case studies, messaging, brochures, webcasts, web copy, slide shows and emails

  • Collaborate with business partners, PR, events, sales and channel owners to develop content and marketing communications to support our business goals

  • Manage the marketing and content development process from beginning to end—authoring assignment briefs, managing the creative agency/other writers and/or creating content yourself, working with business partners, submitting content to compliance, working with publishing and other vendors to execute/print final product

  • Project management of marketing and content initiatives including development of status documents, timelines, schedules, and content plans and ensuring that all deadlines and deliverables are met on time and on budget

  • Manage communications and content distribution through multiple channels, and make suggestions regarding the right content for the right channel

  • Monitor and track content against business and marketing goals to gauge success of efforts

  • Socialize projects internally with team, partners and Senior Leadership

What you have:

  • BA/BS in Marketing, English, Communications, Finance or related field required

  • 5-7 years of marketing or content development experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience in content strategy, new content development, atomizing and syndicating content a plus

  • Experience in the financial services industry and understanding of the Registered Investment Advisor business a plus

  • Copy/content writing and editing skills

  • Deadline oriented with effective time management

  • Extremely strong project management and organizational skills

  • Strong client focus and ability to think in terms of the client experience/perspective

  • Ability to build strong personal relationships and trust across business lines

  • Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects with short timelines; keeping projects on schedule and on budget

  • Strong persuasion and Power Point skills

  • Self-motivated with solid judgment to think clearly and form a point of view

  • Flexible, adaptable, comfortable with producing results in an environment of change and ambiguity
