Our Opportunity:

Schwab is leading the way with innovative software solutions in our Sales and Service Technology solution group. The Managing Director position within the SST organization is responsible for the orchestration of the Customer Relationship Management solutions. The leadership position will require expertise in full life cycle management of CRM systems, integration platforms, and database base technologies in a cloud based environment. What you’ll do:

  • Align the vision of the Sales Desktop Technology team within the Sales and Service Technology organization to achieve business driven outcomes

  • Lead the development team to delivery on business requirements through sustainable processes that cover the full Software Development Lifecycle process

  • Develop and maintain solid relationships with your business and operational partners

  • Ensure the development teams are practicing the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility

  • Maintain organizational effectiveness and efficiency by providing the leadership and vision necessary to achieve the desired business goals

  • Complete projects by coordinating resources and timetables with other group’s development managers

  • Communicate to staff about job expectations by providing coaching, counseling and performance appraisals

  • Validate the delivery of end to end quality software solutions by actively reviewing Quality Assurance and Operational metrics

  • Ensure team’s adherence to disaster recovery, back-up procedures, and information security and control structures

  • Build and develop relationships with peers and key business team members

What you have:

  • Experience leading global teams of distributed technologists that span different enterprise functions and technologies

  • 10+ years of professional software leadership experience and bachelor’s degree or equivalent

  • 6+ years of software development experience with a focus in CRM applications, to include Salesforce.com

  • 4+ years of experience working within applications that require configuration and custom code development

  • 4+ years of experience managing teams following Agile or similar iterative development methodologies

  • Technical management experience to include strategic planning, developing and managing budgets, and leading technical team members

  • Distributed technologies and languages such as .Net, Java/JEE are highly desirable

  • Good understanding of technical issues, designs, and engineering best practices

  • Skillful in problem solving and cross-organization collaboration

  • Great interpersonal and communication skills

  • Financial services industry experience
