Our Opportunity:

The SPS Finance Manager opportunity is a vital member of the Retail & Marketing Finance organization. This high profile position provides direct financial oversight and decision support for various operations within Stock Plan Services including corporate client support, participant services, workplace financial solutions and platform/product creation and support. The organization is critical in delivering products and services with institutional-grade expertise to everyday investors.

In addition, you will work across the Finance organization. With your analytics and financial savvy, you'll liaise between the Finance team and the functional areas it supports. You will resolve issues related to forecasting, planning, resource prioritization and business profitability, and you will help create and translate business case analyses into easy-to-understand presentations.This will be a great opportunity to gain business knowledge, exposure within Schwab with a potential for future career possibilities, and be part of a great team.

What you’ll do:

  • Build and maintain financial models to inform decision making

  • Facilitate ongoing forecasting and the annual budgeting process (revenue, expense & personnel)

  • Lead monthly close process around revenue, expenses, personnel and related metrics

  • Relationship / thought partnership with product Managers and Directors

  • Help drive business decisions or influence the future direction of the product

  • Perform other financial reporting needs as required by the business, ad-hoc analysis and projects

What you have:

  • An undergraduate degree

  • 3 - 5 years of related Financial Planning & Analysis or similar experience

  • Strong experience with data analytics and decision support

  • Prior financial industry experience preferred

  • Strong PC skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and financial modeling

  • Experience sourcing data from database applications and working efficiently with large data sets

  • Ability to build relationships and interact with many different audiences and levels of management

  • Demonstrated track record of managing several projects simultaneously

  • Ability to synthesize data and summarize findings into effective presentations

  • Ability to quickly analyze issues and present workable solutions that are in the best interest of our business partners

  • Ability to articulate views in a clear and concise manner
