We are looking for a talented individual who is passionate about sharing the power of using data to make educated and informed business decisions.The role of BI Analyst will be focused on driving the adoption of self-service reporting throughout the business community.
What you’ll do:
Must be a people person who gets excited when the education you provide results in others having success
Coach, mentor and train a diverse group of business users on the Web intelligence tool from SAP Business Objects / Tableau helping improve the "analytic IQ" of the organization
Educate business users about what's in the self-service environment, how to use it, and how it can help them do their jobs more effectively
Communicate both within the immediate team and with business users. Ensure all receive consistent messages and have clear understanding of the business direction, strategy and implementation schedule
Ability to present persuasive information in varying technical depth to different audiences along with excellent cross functionality communication abilities. This position requires technical skills, excellent time management, prioritization capabilities and an aptitude for critical thinking
Get internal teams on board leveraging standards for data governance and modeling with the purpose of collaborating and sharing consistent data throughout the organization
Observe what business users are trying to accomplish and help them learn how to frame questions, create queries, and build reports that will shed new insights on the tasks and processes they manage
Articulate and explain technical issues in simple, straightforward way that are understandable by technical as well as non-technical stakeholders
What you have:
BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering or similar technical degree or equivalent experience
3-5+ years of work experience as technology evangelist, consultant or BI analyst
Experience using and distributing knowledge around BI self-service reporting tool(s). Having previous experience with SAP Business Objects / Tableau is a plus but experience with other similar software is also very useful. Must have experience with at least one BI enterprise level reporting solution.
Understand basic data modelling concepts needed to ensure timely and accurate self-service reporting
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a blend of business acumen and technical aptitude
Experience moderating knowledge sharing portals such as Microsoft Sharepoint
Intermediate SQL skills
