Our Opportunity:

Within Schwab’s technology organization, CTS QA is a leader in defining innovative and effective software testing practices across a broad range of technology platforms. The group has established strong partnerships with both technology and business teams, as well as the centralized project services organization. This centralized QA organization supports both Agile and RUP (waterfall) methodologies. CTS QA is responsible for estimates, test strategies, plans, functional and regression testing for mainframe and distributed applications supporting Schwab’s core brokerage systems including Customer & Account Technology, Cashiering, Stock Plan Services, Corporate Actions, Schwab Bank, Security Master, Client Reporting and more. devops devops devops devops devops devops

What you’ll do:

The Associate QA DevOps role is under the direction of a QA DevOps Lead and CTS QA DevOps Manager

This role will be accountable for project and release based DevOps QA testing for various Schwab broker dealer applications. The position will provide opportunity to interact with multiple domains and applications. The responsibilities will include:

  • Work with the project manager and/or scrum master to provide work estimates, testing schedule and provide project and release status and updates to Leads and Managers.

  • Prepare or help in preparation of test plans, test scenarios, test cases, data setup, bug reporting, test evaluation summary report and communication of status/metrics to the QA Lead.

  • Work with team members for testing activities, participating in Requirements Ambiguity, Use Case/User Story Reviews, and conduct QA analysis and test support activities.

  • Execute Test Cases and Test Scripts and be hands on and detail oriented.

  • Attend Agile Ceremonies (Daily SCRUM, Sprint Planning/Review, Retrospectives, etc.) as required.

  • Work cross-organizationally both within Schwab and with external vendors, both on and offshore to define environment requirements, identify approved QA-related tools, develop and execute QA process and testing best practices.

  • Collaborate with technical and other QA partners as required

What you have:


  • BS or BA in CIS, CS, or equivalent.

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with an interest in software testing

  • Basic knowledge of QA and automation testing

  • Demonstrated skills in education or workplace setting in programming and interfacing with relational databases to perform testing and test automation duties

  • Good interpersonal skills required to establish and maintain relationships with other QA professionals and technical partners.

  • Manage multiple priorities when required

  • Results-oriented, flexible and able to work in fast paced environment

Nice to have:

  • Having dabbled in testing or testing processes or with automated test or development tools a plus.

  • Fair understanding of web site fundamental building blocks

  • Basic knowledge on Agile methodology
