Our Opportunity:

The Wealth Management Technologies organization manages a suite of Schwab Wealth Investment Advisory products, including Schwab Intelligent Portfolios and Schwab Intelligent Advisory. We deliver great platforms through teamwork, innovation and attention to quality in order bring wealth management solutions to more customers. Schwab Intelligent Portfolios is a native mobile and responsive web fully automated investment advisory service with features such as, goal tracking, automatic rebalancing and tax-loss harvesting. The Intelligent Portfolios Rep Tool is a responsive web application that allows Schwab representatives to manage intelligent accounts and automated advice programs. This position will require a highly motivated and focused engineer that is curious to build new and innovative solutions for our clients, representatives, and advisors.

What you’ll do:

The software engineer will be part of a development team responsible for designing, developing, and testing enterprise-level applications within the Product Development and Engineering organization. This individual will build and support web applications and services. The candidate will become a key member and active participant on a highly collaborative and self-organizing agile scrum team.

We're looking for someone passionate about searching out, pioneering, and evangelizing new and emerging technologies in order to build exceptional software solutions. Consideration for high quality software implementation, delivery, and maintenance is a must. Initiative should be taken when opportunities arise to influence and/or improve the efficiencies of the SDLC process. The role will require a high level of responsibility yet has a support structure necessary for development growth.

What you have:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Master of Computer Science with some .NET or Java background.

  • Coursework and/or experience in:

  • Object oriented languages such as Java, C# or C++ Software engineering principles, such as software design patterns

  • Database principles, such as SQL, Oracle, MongoDB or Hadoop

  • User interfaces, such as HTML5, JavaScript, CSS

  • Knowledge and/or experience in:

  • Web service design and implementation

  • Software development lifecycle

  • Open source libraries, frameworks, or tools

  • A yearning to:Strong work ethic, technical skills, and the ability to problem solve and partner with individuals across the organization are required.

  • Understand and leverage new tools and technologies

  • Leverage technology to build products that "wow" users
