Client Service & Support (CS&S) is the primary service and trading arm for Schwab Investor Services. The vision for CS&S is to be engaged financial services professionals who inspire client loyalty by providing guidance and solutions to fulfill clients’ needs. In partnership with other organizations throughout the company, including Schwab Business Learning and Human Resources, the Retail Talent Group within CS&S is tasked with creating and maintaining career development and employee loyalty programs.
This opportunity is to design and lead successful Early Experience (EE) programs within CS&S. In 2017 for example, we will be piloting an apprenticeship program for active students, hosting an internship track within the Schwab Intern Academy and working closely with Talent Acquisition (TA) to pilot an onsite 3-day summit with local sophomores. All programs will need to be assessed on attracting diversity and participant conversions to new hires, and potentially expanded in 2017 and 2018. As part of a high performing team, you’ll lead program development and provide strategic recommendations to ensure we have the right candidates attracted to, and entering their careers in CS&S.
What you’ll do:
As the Sr. Manager and lead Program Manager for our Early Experience (EE) programs, you will
Use your talents and experience to develop and manage program details ensuring rewarding experiences in a seamless EE continuum with the goal of maximizing conversion to full time employees in CS&S
Partnering with TA, evolve the CS&S campus strategy, leading to a strong pipeline of qualified talent for CS&S and its career programs (including our flagship program for financial advisors, Financial Consultant Academy)
Support program development and act in liaison role, along with Director and VP, for existing strategic university relationships
As the Program Manager for Early Experiences, some of your responsibilities include
Partnering with leaders in our local contact centers (Indianapolis, Phoenix, Denver and Westlake, TX) to design high-impact experiences for participants of each program and future programs
Develop tracking of Early Experience programs’ participants to ensure successful conversion, and developing analysis to help define our best candidates
Develop the 2018 strategy for expanding the EE programs across centers
Work very closely with CS&S management and our TA partners to test and learn what the best candidate for our culture and learning can be
Quickly establish rock-solid relationships with TA and program managers that depend on new-to-firm hires, improving candidate selection and diversity
Maintain recruiting collateral for our programs to support on-campus events and our web presence, keeping messaging fresh and relevant to our audience
Support strategic university partnerships with activities such as recruiting mentors for Schwab-sponsored wealth management programs and attending select on-campus recruiting events, deepening relationships with university partners
What you have:
5+ years with direct project or program management experience.
Analytic and problem solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
An outstanding record of partnership across organizational lines.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively on a fast paced and dynamic team with ability to quickly organize and manage multiple priorities.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including expert presentation and communication skills –both written and oral.
Collaborative team player with examples of establishing and developing effective relationships with internal and external business partners.
Also able to be self-directed; happy working independently for long stretches at a time.
Demonstrated ability to engage others to reach desired future state of the business.
Expertise in finding creative and innovative solutions to day-to-day challenges and implementing them.
Strong client service focus and solid understanding of CS&S service model, along with a network of contacts across Investor Services and Human Resources.
High proficiency with Powerpoint is a must (plan to share samples of recent presentations).
Experience working at or with an academic institution desired.
Proficiency in Word and Excel.
Desired: experience with MS Sharepoint.
