The Internal Controls and Risk Management Team is responsible for working collaboratively with key business and technology stakeholders to execute reconciliation, compliance and internal control-related initiatives that promote attainment of business goals and objectives. The Manager-Internal Control and Risk Management will lead and participate in projects to evaluate and improve business processes and procedures, as well as risk issue resolution, along with day to day oversight of the ETF Reconciliation team. This position reports to the Senior Team Manager, Internal Controls and Risk Management.
What you’ll do:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Evaluate the control environment, identify areas of concern, and recommend solutions impacting operational controls.
Lead initiatives related to reviews of processes and procedures, making recommendations to gain efficiency and scale, and ensure adequate controls are in place, effectively documenting and communicating results.
Work regularly with key business stakeholders to identify and resolve areas of concern related to controls.
Participate in projects addressing control gaps or deficiencies and prescribing solutions to address areas where controls are deficiently designed or not operating effectively.
Scope of work includes planning the project, documenting and evaluating existing processes/control systems, and developing and presenting recommendations for needed changes or improvements.
Participate in, and/or lead other centralized projects or initiatives, as necessary.
Day to day oversight of the Daily Reconciliation team.
What you have:
An undergraduate degree in Business, Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience required.
Minimum 5 years internal control, reconciliation, business process review and/or project management experience. Industry experience related to retirement recordkeeping, financial services and/or investment management services preferred.
Strong client focus; ability to interact effectively and build strong relationships with internal and external partners.
Effective critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills; strong attention to detail while keeping a holistic approach.
Ability to take initiative, when faced with a new or challenging situation, and formulate a plan of action.
Excellent written/oral communication skills; demonstrated ability to articulate effectively and professionally with all levels within the organization.
Strong time management, organization, project management and prioritization skills; ability to multi-task among competing priorities.
Ability to work independently or under general direction, and participate in determining objectives or action plan.
Ability to lead an effective and highly engaged team.
