Our Opportunity:

The IMT organization governs the strategy and implementation of the enterprise data warehouse, business intelligence architecture and marketing solutions. The IMT- Marketing Technology team has responsibility for advancing our analytics and business intelligence tools for the business, which includes our SAS Grid Platform. As we look to move forward with the R Studio platform, we are looking for a Snr. Unix Administrator to support our environment.

What you’ll do:

The Snr. Unix Administrator will be solely responsible for administering a set of Linux (RHEL 6.x) servers and the SAS Grid and R Studio Server environments. We are ideally looking for an individual who has experience administering SAS and GRID. This person will need to have an in depth knowledge of SAS and GRID administration, installation, configuration, security, monitoring and problem resolution in a Linux environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Installation and configuration of SAS Grid software components in a multi-node grid environment (SAS Grid using IBM Platform LSF and RTM) along with SAS Enterprise Guide 7.12 and SAS Enterprise Miner clients

  • Installation and configuration R Studio in a Server environment along with R Studio clients on Windows 8.1 Tune and maintain the environment

  • Proactively monitor server performance, disk utilization, CPU utilization, network performance, and the overall health of the system using advanced Linux commands and utilities

  • Apply patches and hot fixes to the SAS Grid and R Studio applications as needed

  • Perform all advanced Linux administration functions

  • Write advanced shell scripts to automate administrative and server management functions

  • Partner with business organizations (e.g. Marketing, Analytics, and Risk) to ensure expectations are met and act as a liaison between database marketing, analytics, risk, and technical teams to resolve issues

  • Troubleshoot various SAS Server application and Linux server performance issues

  • Document every aspect of the platform and application installation/configuration (including network and process diagrams) and constantly update documentation to ensure constant accuracy

  • Identify, analyze, document, and prioritize issues and risks and help to resolve them

  • Support tenants and users of the SAS platforms

  • Support the review of design documents to ensure the business team understands the technical solution

  • Facilitate communications with groups spanning business, technical, vendor and project team at various levels of the organization

What you have:

  • Demonstrated experience in UNIX/Linux Systems Administration (> 7 years)

  • Demonstrated experience in SAS Grid Server and R Studio Server administration in a Linux environment (> 5 years)

  • Demonstrated experience administering the SAS EBI Platform Demonstrated experience in UNIX shell scripting (> 3 years)

  • Relational database experience and/or SAS Scalable Performance Data Server (SPDS) or SAS/Share experience

  • Experience creating metadata users and groups Experience creating metadata libraries and folders

  • Experience starting and stopping all SAS servers Experience reading through SAS logs to work through problems finding root causes and rectifying. Interfacing with SAS technical support is a must.

  • Experience monitoring grid and make sure that nodes are balanced with SAS generated code running efficiently across grid Experience troubleshooting R Studio, SAS Enterprise Guide and Enterprise Miner clients

  • Working knowledge of LSF as it pertains to the SAS grid.

  • Ability to make changes to SAS environment such as modifying SAS code, configuration files and writing automation scripts.

  • Ability to install hot fixes, service packs, upgrades as well as add-on software components.

  • Knowledge and consultative approach to model deployment methodology.

  • Experience troubleshooting GRID problems SAS and SAS/GRID Installation Experience with SAS/RTM

  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting SAS Mid-tier Experience administering SAS/EMINER and SAS/Enterprise Guide Experience with alternative authentication providers such as Active Directory.

  • Experience with administering SAS/Secure and SSL Certificates Experience with working in a strict Change Management Environment
