What you’ll do:

DUTIES: Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. has an opening for a Sr. Staff, Software Applications Engineer in Austin TX. Subject Matter Expert for the technologies and platform. Responsible for overall work backlog. Set technical direction for other CAM Core team members. Supervise and coordinate all work performed by the team members. Work with internal and external clients to design solutions for their authentication and SSO needs. Ensure continuous improvement of technical process for the platform and lead innovation initiatives. Ensure all components of the platform meet quality and security standards by performing frequent architecture and code reviews. Guarantee platform stability and scalability by ensuring that the proper design patterns, multithreading models, and alert/failover mechanisms are implemented at all levels of the platform.

What you have:

Requirements : Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field and eight years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in job offered, computer programming, technical solutions architecture, or related occupation.

Experience and/or education must include:

  1. J2EE, Javascript, XML, HTML, and SOAP or REST web services

  2. Industry development standards, design patterns, and best-practices;

  3. Technical leadership;

  4. Prototypes and (Proof Of Concept)POC’s to asses alternate technical approaches;

  5. Financial service industry background;

  6. Agile development methodology

  7. Database and performance tuning; and

  8. Design and development of high volume software scalable to 1000s of transactions per minute.
