Our Opportunity:

The Marketing Technologies organization is responsible for all campaign management and marketing automation systems, both cloud and on premise, along with supporting all marketing operations systems such as Marketing Resource Management (MRM) and Digital Asset Management (DAM).

Marketing Technology is looking for an experienced Sr. Linux Systems Engineer to own the overall health and management of server systems and applications used by our Creative Center as well as other key constituents within Schwab. Our environment consists of Macintosh, Windows and Linux hardware and the applications this role would support include custom build solutions and 3rd party applications. Our core applications are LAMP and our focus is will be on Linux, Apache HTTP Server (and/or Tomcat), MySQL and Perl/PHP/Python.

What you’ll do:

The scope of our work includes production support, design and engineering, automation and tuning. This role will providing direction and vision for the continued refinement of the technology support for our business partners. Assessing and applying emerging technologies, practices, and processes and strategizing and executing projects to improve efficiency and innovation.

What you have:

  • 5-7 yrs. RedHat Linux (primary), Solaris, AIX (secondary)

  • Expertise required to compile, package, install, script and configure to support the LAMP environment

  • Ideal candidate will have experience in production support and have worked as a Technical Architect supporting business applications.

  • Excellent analytical skills and in-depth knowledge of Linux and Macintosh operating systems and storage solutions (NAS, SAN, DAS, etc.). Knowledge of hosted (cloud) software solutions (IaaS and PaaS) a plus.

  • Ability to install and configure PHP, MySQL, RAILS, Ruby. Coding level knowledge a plus. Knowledge of .Net, native or HTML5 based mobile development, and IDE's a plus.

  • High-level understanding of Source Control Systems, Content Management Systems, and deployment systems including but not limited to GIT, SVN, WordPress, Webistrano, Capistrano, MongoDB, Puppet.

  • Excellent communication skills and be comfortable working with people at all levels of both the technology and business sides of the organization.

  • Strong organizational skills, flexibility and ability to juggle multiple priorities are required for success in the position.

  • Understanding of big data technologies with experience in Mulesoft is a plus but not required.
