The BPM Technology team plans an integral role with our Business Process Transformation team by delivering exciting technology solutions on an enterprise level. The mission of our program is to make things easier to get work done across both internal and external customers. These solutions are critical to helping Schwab evolve its ability to provide solutions for both our clients and our internal staff. The BPM Technology team interacts with multiple lines of businesses as well as with multiple technology partners across the Schwab ecosystem. Our flagship application uses and interacts with data inputs and outputs to process workflow solutions. The BPM Data Architect Technical Director will be a key member of the BPM Technology team, which is responsible for development and maintenance of the Pega based BPM platforms used by Schwab’s teams to deliver industry leading service to Schwab clients.

What we are looking for:

The BPM Technology team is seeking a seasoned data architect that is responsible for thoroughly understanding the data required to support a robust BPM system and define the best way to instantiate this data in the Pega and associated reporting platforms. This responsibility includes understanding the current and future Schwab data sources, the existing MyQ data model, Pega frameworks, and a variety of databases and data transformation tools. The position requires an understanding of Business Intelligence models, analytics tools for process support, and how to leverage information management repositories to best satisfy reporting needs. This responsibility includes applying best practices, supporting and advancing architectural guidelines and directives from the Global Data office, implementing business intelligence models and collaborating with other data teams on solution approaches and positioning implementations for ongoing success and maintainability.

What you'll do within the first three months:

  • Thoroughly analyze and document the existing MyQ data structures

  • Provide insight into evolving the data model based upon the product roadmaps

  • Define a reporting architecture delivers business requirements in a robust and scalable manner

  • Socialize the proposed architecture to all relevant stakeholders

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Document structure of BPM data within MyQ and reporting data warehouse

  • Working with internal data organizations to identify the optimum solution to support BPM needs while maintaining downstream systems relying on BPM related data

  • Supporting key projects to add new functionality and improve the user experience

  • Leading data requirements gathering, developing use case documentation and partnering with business to deliver solutions

  • Provide a holistic analyst view into multiple projects that touch/compete with the BPM space and provide recommendations to senior management on best utilization of time, dollars, and resources across projects

What you have:

Education: BA required, 5+ years of relevant work experience required including:

  • 5+ years of consultative data analysis experience

  • 5+ years of experience in financial services a plus

  • 5+ years of experience providing data analysis across multiple complex projects with tight delivery/budget expectations

  • 2+ years working on Agile teams

  • Experience with a BPM based solution, with a strong preference for a Pega-based solution

  • Understands various aspects of integration and data replication, specifically: message-based replication, MQ, ESB concepts, consuming web services (SOAP, REST), has hands-on experience architecting and supporting large-batch, micro-batch, and pub/sub models, understands error handling aspects and techniques (poison queues, staging tables, etc.)

  • Experience desired with Oracle and Teradata

  • Understands limitations of BPM platforms and can suggest/has experience with complementary products.

  • Experience with large enterprise implementations (ideally in financial services with multiple different user groups and a high user base).

  • Understands analytics, business intelligence, and personalization.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (self-starter style) with excellent written and verbal skills

  • Highly client-oriented with a collaborative work style

  • Demonstrated ability to work within all aspects of the development lifecycle

  • Strong relationship building and facilitation skills

  • Solid attention to detail, coupled with an ability to think strategically
